Frequently Asked Questions

What is Yoga?

Yoga is a whole being (mind, body, breath, feelings, etc) practice and state of mind that can allow you to experience balance & harmony in your mind, body, and life experience. Yoga is being One with your Whole Self and there are limitless practices and ways to practice and experience that. Various styles of yoga combine physical postures, breathing techniques, meditation, and an invitation to be honest, non-violent, and non-judgmentally curious about yourself and your world.

What are the benefits of Yoga?

With regular practice, you will likely notice your body getting stronger and more flexible; you will feel more grounded and have better posture, you will likely notice improved focus, and the ability to stay calm and maintain relaxed breathing.

Do I need to be flexible or strong to do Yoga?

It is a misunderstanding that you have to be flexible or strong to do yoga. We work on many levels including the body, the breath, the mind, and the spirit in every class. You will find yourself becoming more flexible and strong as you continue to practice yoga

What should I bring to class?

Bring water to stay hydrated, a yoga mat if you have one, and a towel. We have mats available at no extra cost. Come dressed comfortably to move freely. It’s also useful (not necessary) to have an open mind and a clear intention of why you are choosing to practice.

Do I need my own yoga mat?

No. We provide yoga mats and props for you to use at no extra cost. We kindly ask that after each use, you help us disinfect all equipment with the disinfectant wipes provided.

How do I register for class?

You may pre-register for class on our website via the studio class schedule OR you can show up 10-15 minutes before class time to sign in at the front desk.

What if I have pain or a previous injury?

If you are under a doctor’s care for an acute situation, please be sure to discuss taking yoga classes with them. You can talk to the yoga instructor about any existing physical conditions and concerns you have about them. Yoga benefits many people with chronic pain by helping the body regain its balance between strength and flexibility, movement, and awareness.

What about eating or drinking before class?

It is a good idea to come to class hydrated and drink plenty of water after yoga class. Try not to eat a full meal at least two to three hours before class.

Does your restroom have showers?

No. For those of you getting a class in before work, school, or on the go, please be prepared that our restroom does not have a shower.
